The capital of the Saxony and once a fishing village nicknamed the Florence of the Elbe, Dresden is an exceptional German city. It was almost completely destroyed in 1945 following an aerial bombing attack, but literally rose from the ashes, like a phenix, and was beautifully restored. You’ll be amazed by the Frauenkirche, a church rebuilt exactly as it was before in 1994 and that stands proudly in the middle of the main square. You’ll also visit Dresden Cathedral, the Zwinger palace’s Old Masters Picture Gallery of paintings, the Albertinum, and the Semperoper, a magnificent, world-renowned opera house. Your trip will be complete!
