Barcelona started as a Roman colony. Remnants of the ancient settlement can still be seen in the Gothic Quarter, where you’ll learn more about the city’s history as you wind your way through the cobbled streets. Explore some of Barcelona’s most important places, such as Las Ramblas and the Barcelona Cathedral. In the El Born area, enjoy a fabulous view of Basilica Santa Maria del Mar, built in a superb gothic style. Between narrow streets, you’ll find the Picasso Museum—the only museum of the painter’s works created while he was alive. The guided tour will trace his evolution, both as an artist and as a man.
