Depart to La Bocana, where our guides will give you detailed information about Oaxaca and Mexico’s culture and continue to Copalita, the 1st eco-archeological park in Mesoamerica. The site dates back to 500 B.C., and there still are debates about what culture developed it, between the mysterious Zapotec (the biggest and most important ethnic group of Oaxaca) and the Mazatecos who used to live by the coast side. The site is located inside the Botazoo Ecological Park, south of Huatulco and contains the second recently most important discoveries in México. Copalita overlooks the ocean and consists of several burial sites, temples and one ball court. New excavations continue in the area and will help us confirm the culture that reached Huatulco.
