Uplift: monthly payment solution

Uplift is a monthly payment program available exclusively for the purchase of vacation packages (minimum purchase of $500 and maximum of $15,000). Financing is limited to a 12-month period of fixed monthly payments.

Frequently asked questions

To qualify for Uplift monthly payments, the following requirements must be met:

  • You must have a Canadian mobile phone number with smartphone capability.
  • The package price must be at least $500.
  • You must purchase the package at least 24 hours before departure.
  • You must be the one travelling.
  • You must be Canadian and over the age of 19 (Americans are not eligible for this financing plan on our platforms).
  • You can only have a maximum of two active loans with Uplift at any given time.

  • When you book your trip, select "Pay monthly" as the payment method at checkout.
  • Fill out a no-commitment financing request from Uplift to receive a loan decision immediately without leaving Transat.com. The request will take 5-10 minutes to complete and will consist of these five steps:
    1. Enter information requested by Uplift: You will be asked to provide some personal information, including your name, address, email, phone number, date of birth and annual income.
    2. Confirm loan eligibility: Uplift will then proceed with a soft check of your loan eligibility. This verification will not affect your credit score.
    3. Receive Uplift loan decision (accepted or refused): Within seconds, you will receive a response and the exact amount of the monthly payments, if accepted.
    4. Accept loan terms and conditions: You will be asked to accept the terms of the loan agreement.
    5. Finalize agreement: Your transaction will not be completed until you click "Pay now."
  • Once your booking is complete, Uplift will proceed to pay for your entire trip.
  • Transat will then send you a confirmation email indicating that the booking has been made and the loan granted. The email will also include the amount paid. Uplift will also send you a loan confirmation email.
  • You will then be responsible for making fixed monthly payments, based on your purchase date, until the loan is repaid.
  • There are no payment restrictions or penalties. You may increase payments or repay the entire loan at any time.

  • Payment for the first month must be made at the time of booking, either directly from your bank account or via Visa Debit/Debit Mastercard.
  • When purchasing travel insurance: If the price of your travel insurance is higher than the proposed Uplift monthly payment, your first Uplift payment will equal the total amount of your insurance.
  • Once the initial payment is made, the balance is then divided into 11 equal monthly payments
  • Financing is limited to a 12-month period of fixed monthly payments.

If your loan request is denied, the reason for the refusal will appear on your screen and also sent to you via an SMS/text message. Uplift will also send you the name of a consumer reporting agency to access your credit history.

You could also complete your booking by choosing one of two other options:

  • Another qualified traveller on your booking may apply for the Uplift loan on Transat.com, in which case the booking process will have to be started again from the beginning.
  • You could pay with an alternate method (e.g., credit card).

  • Uplift is responsible for all questions related to payments and loans. You can contact their 24/7customer service by calling them toll-free at 1 (844) 257-5400 or emailing them at support@uplift.com.
  • You could also check the balance of your loan at any time by logging into your Uplift Pay Monthly account at pay.uplift.com.

  • You must first contact Transat at 1 (877) 872-6728 or 514 636-3630 to cancel or modify your booking.
  • Transat will then proceed with the cancellation or modification according to its terms and conditions.
  • If a refund is applicable, funds will be sent to Uplift, who will then issue you a refund.
  • The entire process can take up to 30 days from the date of cancellation or modification.
  • Trips cancelled after 24 hours may not be eligible for reimbursement of applicable fees and accrued interest.

Uplift is responsible for calculating the interest rate on its loans.
