Philanthropy policy

Transat believes in generosity and in the importance of giving back to its communities. With the help of its employees, the company provides concrete support to a variety of philanthropic and humanitarian causes. To frame its areas of action, programs and selection criteria, Transat adopted a Philanthropy Policy to define its areas of action, programs, and selection criteria.

Transat provides support in the form of financial donations or a commitment of human or material resources. Organizations wishing to submit a proposal or request must meet the following criteria:

  • Criteria:

    • Be a recognized non-profit organization, in existence for at least 5 years, with no religious or political affiliation.
    • Be active and present in Transat's or its subsidiaries' main destination markets (Canada, Europe, Florida, the Caribbean, and Mexico, etc.).
    • Projects or programs focused on humanitarian aid, child protection or sustainable travel will be prioritized.

  • Excluded projects (non-exhaustive list)

    • Project submitted by an individual, elementary, or high school, social club, or sports team.
    • Project or organization that aims to promote a religious, political, or economic point of view.
    • Organization of conferences, conventions, or special events
    • Travel by a delegation, sports team, film or TV crew, participants in a festival or other groups.
    • Golf or other type of tournament, even if organized for philanthropic purposes.

    Provide the following information:

    • Name of the organization, name of person in charge and address.
    • Description of organization and its mission.
    • Description of activity planned project and, if applicable, partners.
    • Contribution amount requested and duration.
    • Any other information deemed pertinent.
    • Donor visibility program, if applicable.
