Marketing and communications Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Public Relations and Social Media, the incumbent will contribute to the development and implementation of the company's public relations strategy. His or her main mandate will be to coordinate and write engaging content for the media, coordinate events and optimize the PR news calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation of the public relations strategy, aligned with organizational and marketing objectives;
  • Collaborate in the planning and optimization of the Air Transat and Transat editorial calendar to contribute to the positioning of the brands and to highlight the company's offer;
  • Coordinate and execute media relations initiatives (media lists, press releases, interview coordination);
  • Write media pitches and press releases;
  • Monitor PR trends and current events to keep the company relevant;
  • Create weekly and monthly PR performance reports and analyze resulting data to extract insights. Track results against key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Coordinate various promotional projects for Air Transat communities, such as activations, event coverage and launches.

Requirements

  • University degree in communications or marketing or relevant experience in the field;
  • 3-5 years experience in public relations or communications;
  • Bilingualism (oral and written) essential with exceptional writing skills in both languages;
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian media landscape;
  • Excellent judgment, organizational skills, self-reliance, interpersonal skills, and teamwork;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Knowledge of the travel industry (an asset);
