Social Media Strategist

Reporting to the Director of Public Relations and Social Media, the incumbent will contribute to the development and implementation of Air Transat's social media strategy across multiple social platforms. His or her main mandate will be to manage the content creation strategy to ensure that all shared pieces adequately represent the brand. He or she will work directly with the Content Coordinator to develop an engaging content calendar across the brand's various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the social media strategy, aligned with organizational and marketing objectives and brand image;
  • Work closely with the PR and content team on the development of internal and external content, coordinating with partners;
  • Create and implement original campaigns and content to promote the company and its partners on all platforms;
  • With the Social Media Coordinator, collaborate in the planning and optimization of the editorial calendar of Air Transat and Transat platforms in order to inspire the community, contribute to the positioning of the brands and highlight the variety of the company's offer;
  • Monitor social media trends and current events to ensure the company remains relevant;
  • Monitor conversations and user-generated content (UGC) related to Air Transat, Transat and competitors to identify influencers and create links with them;
  • Create, analyze and share performance reports to ensure the effectiveness of shared content against key success indicators (KPIs);
  • Coordinate certain media buys (boosts) in collaboration with the internal media agency.

Requirements

  • University degree in communications or marketing or relevant experience in the field;
  • 5-7 years of social media experience;
  • Experience in developing social media strategy and content pillars;
  • Bilingualism (oral and written) essential with exceptional writing skills in both languages;
  • Excellent knowledge of key social platforms (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn);
  • Excellent judgment, strong organizational skills, creativity, self-starter, interpersonal skills, and teamwork;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and/or Canva (an asset);
  • Ability to film and edit video content (an asset);
  • Knowledge of the travel industry (an asset).
