Air Transat unveils the third season of the Chef’s Menu by Daniel Vézina

Montréal, February 8, 2018 — Air Transat is proud to announce the summer 2018 edition of the Chef’s Menu by Daniel Vézina. Travellers can savour two new meals featuring local ingredients, wild blueberries and smoked meat, as well as enjoy the return of four favourite dishes and two breakfast choices. The new meals, pork filet mignon with Quebec blueberries and chicken cordon bleu garnished with smoked meat, in addition to other summer 2018 menu choices, can be pre-ordered as of today. They will be served starting May 1st to all Club Class passengers and will be available for purchase in Economy Class.

Note that the Chef’s Menu by Daniel Vézina includes two vegetarian choices and is offered free of charge to all Club Class passengers. In Economy Class, meals and their side dishes are offered at the following prices: $25 for lunch/dinner $15 for breakfast meals.

Lunch/Dinner*:

  • Salmon fillet with Asian noodles
  • Pulled beef shepherd’s pie
  • Vegetable risotto
  • White bean and quinoa casserole

* Each meal is served with a cheese plate, dessert and glass of wine.

Breakfast *:

  • Spinach and basil omelette
  • Crepes with goat cheese and smoked salmon

* Each meal is served with a plain croissant, yogourt, orange juice and coffee.

About Chef Daniel Vézina

Chef Daniel Vézina has been at the heart of the Quebec culinary scene for more than 35 years. He’s co-owner of the Laurie Raphaël restaurants in Quebec City (1991) and Montreal (2007), and in May 2016 opened a health-food counter called La Serre. Considered one of the pioneers of cooking without wasting food, he has published six cookbooks, the last of which won a Gold Award at the Taste Canada Awards for most unique subject. Daniel Vézina has received many distinctions and awards throughout his career. He was named Chef of the Year in 2006 at the ITHQ gala, was inducted into the International Order of Disciples of Auguste Escoffier in Paris in 2012, and received the Renaud Cyr 2001 award by the Mérite national de la restauration et de l’alimentation.
