    Become an Air Transat pilot

    With Ascension Academy, Air Transat gives you the opportunity to become a pilot through an ab initio training program tailored to the specifics of our aircraft. When you graduate from this intensive year-and-half program, you will get to live your dream and join our team aboard the Air Transat fleet.

  • Your training program

    • The Ascension Academy is open to anyone with little or no flying experience, whatever their professional or educational background. If you’ve always dreamed of flying or want to change your career path, this training program can help you take on a new life by flying our medium-range aircraft. Read more.
    • We have developed this training program with CAE, the gold standard worldwide for pilot training and a long-standing partner.
    • If you’re selected for the program, Air Transat will hire you upon successful completion. The program will help you become a pilot in a matter of months and fly on our wings.

  • Phoenix’s Campus

    The Ascension Academy program lasts approximately 18 months. Most of the training takes place at CAE’s facilities at Falcon Field airport in Phoenix, in Arizona on a modern, cutting-edge campus.

  • Once you're hired

    • Your training will enable you to operate the aircraft in our fleet upon completion of the program.
    • You’ll fly some of the most fuel-efficient, last-generation aircraft in their class (A330 and A321), and work with the latest technological tools in the industry.
    • You’ll fly to top international destinations. You’ll quickly be flying transatlantic to Europe, the Caribbean, Central America and the east and west coasts of the United States.
