Bernard Bussières joins Transat A.T. Inc. as Vice-President, Legal Services and Secretary of the Corporation

Transat A.T. Inc. announces the appointment of Bernard Bussières to the position of Vice-President, Legal Services and Secretary of the Corporation.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Bussières was a senior partner in the law firm Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, where he was the key advisor for Transat’s business and financing operations. Mr. Bussières specializes in business and commercial law, with emphasis on corporate financing, the sale and purchase of companies as well as on technology transfer and licensing.

The following year he worked in the legal department of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. In 1995 he returned to private practice as a senior partner with Martineau Walker which had become Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, a national and international firm.

Mr. Bussières holds a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the University of Ottawa. He has given conferences on corporate reorganization, mergers and acquisitions, and on shareholders’ agreements, and has given seminars on franchising. He is a member of the Bar of Montreal, of the Quebec Bar, and of the Canadian Bar Association. Mr. Bussières is also a member of Réseau Capital and of the Chambre de Commerce de la Rive-Sud.
