Transat France initiates Eurocharter restructuring plan

Paris, September 24, 2009

Transat France has announced its intention to make structural changes to its Eurocharter distribution network, a move that will bring 61 travel agencies in France under the Club Voyages and Look Voyages banners.

These structural modifications will result in the disappearance of the Eurocharter head office, the strategic integration of approximately half of the agencies into Look Voyages and, eventually, the potential transfer of the other agencies.

Remaining firmly convinced that multichannel distribution is the format best suited to the company’s operating model, Patrice Caradec, President and General Manager, Transat France, explains: “We are adapting to demanding market conditions and strategically refocusing our operations around tourism, which remains our core business. Patricia Chastel, General Manager of Eurocharter, has agreed to stay on until the end of February 2010 to ensure a smooth transition. Under the circumstances, her continued input will be an invaluable asset—indispensable, even—and I extend warm thanks to her.”

The Eurocharter restructuring plan is currently the subject of a job protection plan under discussion with the Comité d’entreprise.
