Transat A.T. Inc., one of the largest integrated tourism companies in the world and Canada’s holiday travel leader, announces today that it has concluded the sale of its Handlex business unit, which provides airport ground-handling services at Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver international airports. Handlex has been acquired by Servisair Holding Canada Inc., a leading global provider of aviation ground services that delivers an integrated range of handling solutions across 118 locations worldwide.
As announced on May 22, this transaction is the result of Transat’s decision to focus on its core business as a tour operator and it allows Handlex staff to join the ranks of an organization with international presence and whose own core business is airport services. The transaction includes an agreement with Air Transat, which will continue to receive the same services from Handlex at its three Canadian operations bases.
