Montreal, October 9, 2013 — Transat Holidays and Nolitours are very pleased with the successful turnout of the recent fall/winter training academies. From August 14 to September 24, 2013, 4,830 travel professionals attended seminars in 49 cities across Canada, for the 2013-2014 South edition of Transat’s Training Academies. The program was highly successful and continues to reinforce the rising level of interest in Transat products across the country. These seminars present a great opportunity to see what's occurring in the market through the eyes of travel agents, and to ensure their expectations for the upcoming season are adequately met.
“This event is ideal for discussing Transat’s strengths and key selling points with an engaged audience. The presentations provide valuable information to those who attend. We foster our relationships with travel agents on a daily basis and are very grateful to those who participated in our training seminars,” commented Denise Heffron, Vice President, National Sales & Commercial, Transat Canada.
For a second consecutive year, the sales teams incorporated fundraising for SOS Children’s Villages and the Children’s Wish Foundation in the grand prize draws. An SOS Children’s Villages information booth was set up at each venue, and all agents were given “Small Change, Big Hearts” envelopes, which are normally distributed on board. Agents who wished to support the cause had the opportunity to donate, and were entered in the draw to win a trip for two. The regional winners are as follows:
- Quebec & Ottawa: Anne-Marie Angers from CAA won a one-week stay for two at Le Domaine Beach Resort & Spa in St. Martin
- Ontario & Atlantic Canada: Kristina Robertson from Tripcentral.ca won a one-week stay for two at the Be Live Grand Bavaro in Punta Cana including airfare
- Western Canada: Allisha Elson from Flight Centre Guildford won a three-night stay for two at the Now Jade Riviera Cancun and a four-night stay for two at the Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa, both in Riviera Maya and including airfare
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised $8,276 for the well-being of children in several countries served by Transat.
