MONTREAL, Nov. 5, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Annick Guérard, General Manager of Transat Tours Canada (TTC), won a Prix femmes d’affaires du Québec last night in the “Executive, Manager or Professional, Private Company” category. The awards, now in their 15th year, are organized by the Réseau des femmes d’affaires du Québec to honour the extraordinary accomplishments of businesswomen.

“I am pleased, and mostly very proud, to receive this award,” Ms. Guérard said. “At Transat, there are many women at all levels of the company, employees as well as executives.” TTC is Transat’s tour operator business unit. With approximately 1,000 employees, TTC is present in Toronto, Vancouver, Great Britain, France and the Netherlands. Every year, Transat carries some 3 million passengers to over 60 destinations all over the world.

Very few women in the tourism industry have received a Prix femmes d’affaires du Québec but Transat can now count two winners. In fact, in 2008, Lina De Cesare, co-founder and then president of Transat’s tour operator Transat AT inc., also won the award in the same category.

Annick Guérard holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and a Masters in Business Administration from HEC Montreal. She joined Transat in 2002 as Senior Director, President’s Office at Air Transat. She worked her way up in the company, holding several important positions within different business units. She took the head of the tour operator subsidiary of Transat, Transat Tours Canada, in December 2012.

Launched in 2001, the Prix femmes d'affaires du Québec awards recognize excellence by women in their specific industry and contribute to their success. Award winners stand apart for their know-how and people skills, their achievements and their influence in all spheres of Quebec’s economy, as well as nationally and internationally.
