With Prague, Budapest and Zagreb, Transat opens the door to Central Europe this summer

Montreal, June 10, 2016 – Transat is thrilled to begin the summer season with its most comprehensive and diversified program yet, for travellers longing to discover Central Europe. Following the great reception for Transat’s flights to the Czech Republic and Hungary, two new destinations added in 2014 and 2015 respectively, the addition of Croatia to the 2016 program meets the expectations of Canadian travellers, whose interest in new destinations continues to grow.

“We are proud to be the only North American airline offering a direct flight to Croatia, and are committed to enhancing our destination lineup each year with attractive new options that set us apart,” states Annick Guérard, President and General Manager of Transat Tours Canada. “Vacationers who wish to discover the splendour of Europe for the first time or return to explore new horizons will be charmed by Hungary, Croatia and the Czech Republic, three of-the-moment destinations. Travellers will be spoiled for choice with the vast selection of packages, guided tours and à la carte travel options,” she adds.

Direct flights to Prague take off from Montreal on Mondays and from Toronto on Wednesdays. Connecting flights are also available from both cities, thanks to Air Transat’s domestic flight program. From Toronto, flights to Zagreb and Budapest operate on Tuesdays and Wednesdays respectively, and are available from Montreal via connecting flight. Travellers from Vancouver can also visit Prague and Budapest, thanks to connecting flights in Toronto on Wednesdays.

Air Transat also offers a multi-destination flight option, making it possible to land in one city and return from another at no extra cost. This advantage multiplies the itinerary possibilities and lets travellers combine several destinations without having to backtrack. A holiday in Prague, the City of a Thousand Spires, can therefore be combined with a gourmet getaway to the bakeries of Budapest, or even the natural riches of Plitvice Lakes National Park outside of Zagreb, or vice-versa.

Moreover, all Europe-bound passengers will benefit from the unparalleled inflight experience provided by Air Transat, named Best North American Leisure Airline four years in a row. The cabin comfort, personal entertainment system accessible via individual touch screens or Air Transat’s CinePlus A and B mobile apps, complimentary checked baggage allowance and attentive crew are just some of the reasons flying Air Transat is so enjoyable.
