Air Transat celebrates its inaugural flight to Croatia

Montreal, June 15, 2016 – Yesterday, Air Transat was thrilled to celebrate its first flight to Zagreb, Croatia. This new destination opens the door to Central European cultural immersion and the country’s west coast wonders, like the cities of Split and Dubrovnik, as well as the islands of Hvar and Mljet, known for their stunning beaches and rich architectural heritage. The new Zagreb flight will operate on Tuesdays until October 4 from Toronto, and is available from Montreal with a connecting flight.

“We are proud to be the only North American airline offering a direct flight to Croatia, and are committed to enhancing our destination lineup each year with attractive new options that set us apart,” says Annick Guérard, President and General Manager of Transat Tours Canada. “Following the great reception for our service to Prague and Budapest, this flight certainly meets the expectations of Canadian travellers, whose interest in new destinations continues to grow. It enhances a program that makes it easy for clients to get to Central Europe,” she adds.

A ceremony was held at the Zagreb airport to highlight the inaugural flight. Representatives from Air Transat, Canada and Croatia hosted members of the media and travel agents in a festive atmosphere to celebrate this new flight between both countries.

Serving 28 European destinations in 13 countries, Transat caters to travellers looking for new discoveries more than ever this season. The multi-destination flight option is also available, making it possible to land in one city and return from another at no extra cost. A Croatian getaway can therefore be combined with a trip to Venice, Budapest or Prague.

Moreover, all Europe-bound passengers will benefit from the unparalleled inflight experience provided by Air Transat, named Best North American Leisure Airline for the fourth year in a row. The cabin comfort, personal entertainment system accessible via individual touch screens or Air Transat’s CinePlus A and B mobile apps, complimentary checked baggage allowance and attentive crew are just some of the reasons flying Air Transat is so enjoyable.
