Transat unveils its new guided tours and packages to discover Israel

Montreal, January 25, 2017 – Transat is proud to present its guided tours and packages that will allow travellers to discover Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and many other touristic attractions in and around Israel. This new destination, our first in the Middle East, will be available as of mid-June.

Three guided tours for a total immersion in ancient history and religion

Three guided tours in Israel will allow travellers to holiday worry-free and to fully explore this destination thanks to the expertise of their passionate guides. With proven itineraries, strategically located three- or four-star hotels, experienced guides, air-conditioned coaches and a wide variety of inclusions (such as certain meals), Transat’s guided tours offer travellers complete peace of mind, all while showing them the best that Israel has to offer.

  • Bible Land (available in English only): This guided tour will invite travellers to discover the Bible’s holiest sites. They will explore Cana, where Jesus performed the miracle of the wine; visit Tabgha, the site of the miraculous Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes; and marvel at the room where the Last Supper was held, on Mount Zion. A swim in the salty waters of the Dead Sea will make this experience even more memorable.
  • Wonders of Israel and Jordan (available in French only): Travellers can journey through thousands of years of history with this guided tour centred around the most magnificent treasures of Israel and Jordan. From Herod’s ancient palace to the red-rose city of Petra to the ruins of Caesarea, travellers will explore some of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the world. And they’ll spend a few days in Jerusalem to discover its holy sites, souks and museums.
  • Wonders of Israel (available in French only): This fascinating tour in the heart of Israel will lead travellers to the discovery of the holiest sites of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Travellers will journey through the Judean Desert and swim in the Dead Sea, as well as explore Jerusalem and its mythical sites, from the Western Wall to the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. They will also discover Galilee and end their holiday in bustling Tel Aviv, the city that never sleeps.  

A wide selection of packages for greater flexibility

The Discover Tel Aviv & Jerusalem tour – which includes roundtrip flight in Economy Class, accommodation in three- or four-star hotels, transfers to and from the airport, transportation in a coach, a local guide and seven breakfasts – will bring history to life like no other. Travellers will see the church at Tabgha, the site of the miraculous Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes; visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue in Capernaum where Jesus taught; marvel at the room where the Last Supper was held, on Mount Zion; and stop at the famous baptismal site of Yardenit. They will also explore the Old City of Jerusalem and have the chance to float in the iconic Dead Sea. In addition, with so many à la carte visits offered, travellers can customize their adventure.

One-week holidays to Tel Aviv or Jerusalem will also be available soon. These packages – which will include roundtrip flight in Economy Class, accommodation in three-, four- or five-star hotels, transfers to and from the airport, and seven breakfasts – will offer travellers the opportunity to fully explore these cities, while staying at the same hotel throughout their trip.

Air Transat recently announced that it will be offering direct flights from Montreal to Tel Aviv, becoming the only airline to offer direct flights to Israel from Montreal. Also available from Toronto with a connection in Montreal, this flight will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from June 18 until the end of October.
