Montréal, June 18, 2026 – Air Transat, voted the World’s Best Leisure Airline by Skytrax seven times, has launched two new routes connecting Montreal–Trudeau International Airport to Reykjavík, Iceland, and Dakar, Senegal.

The Montreal (YUL) to Dakar (DSS) route was inaugurated last night with flight TS722. It will be operated up to twice weekly until October 18, 2026. Meanwhile, service between Montreal (YUL) and Reykjavík (KEF) was inaugurated on June 16 (TS772) and will be offered up to twice weekly until September 20, 2026.
“These two launches mark an important milestone in the diversification of our network and reflect our ambition to open new doors to the world,” said Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat. “With Dakar, we are pioneers, becoming the first airline to offer a direct connection between Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa. With Reykjavík, we are making it easier to access a spectacular, high-demand destination, where nature and landscapes become a true travel experience. These new routes create opportunities for discovery and strengthen already vibrant ties between communities.”

“ADM Aéroports de Montréal is very pleased to welcome these two new non-stop routes to Reykjavík and Dakar, offered by our partner Air Transat, which will allow travellers to discover two unique destinations rich in culture,” said Karl Brochu, Vice President, Operations and Air Services Development at ADM. “We are especially proud to be the first airport in Canada to offer a direct flight to the Senegalese capital. From Iceland’s volcanic landscapes to Dakar’s vibrant artistic and historical scene, these new routes will benefit all travellers seeking memorable experiences, and we would like to thank all Air Transat teams who contributed to developing this service.”
These two new routes are part of Air Transat’s Summer 2026 program, its most extensive ever. The program notably includes the addition of eight new routes, as well as the year-round operation of certain services and increased frequencies on key destinations, demonstrating the carrier’s commitment to expanding its network and offering even more choice and flexibility to its customers.
