Travel to a magnificent waterfall on horseback, go for a refreshing swim in the natural pool at the foot of the falls and continue to the coast for some snorkelling in the peaceful Pizota cove. The Marietas Islands National Park, at the entrance of Banderas Bay, is located at the confluence of 2 major Pacific Ocean currents which creates an area incredibly rich and abundant with marine life. Marietas is recognized internationally as a critically important marine sanctuary with incredible natural beauty. There are 2 main islands, various smaller islands, and 2 beautiful natural beaches (The famous Playa de Amor and Playa Nopalera). Along the way to the Marietas, you have an excellent chance of seeing Dolphins, Turtles (Summer), Manta Rays (Spring), and Humpback Whales (Winter). Our Guide will explain the ecosystems, marine life, and some local culture and then at Marietas, join us for snorkeling, beach, and bird watching. Sightsee along the islands' coasts with rugged shorelines, cliffs, caves, natural arches and chimneys. During the return, relax with the boat under sail and enjoy the hospitality of our crew. EcoSail is Puerto Vallarta’s original Whale Watching Company! The Humpback Whale is the most playful of all whales and they migrate to our mild tropical waters from their northern feeding grounds for mating and calving. Males initiate mating by singing and impressive demonstrations of power such as tail flapping, pectoral fin slapping, and breaches - where a 40 ton whale will come flying out of the water!  Females impregnated the year before return and calve and newborns are very playful as their moms get them ready for the migration north. Join us on our classic sailboats, which are comfortable (shade and bathroom), very non-threatening to the whales, low noise, and excellent viewing. Our guides provide a wealth of information and you can share our passion when we encounter these magnificent animals.
