Nearly 700 professionals from Marlin Travel, TravelPlus and MTPLite agencies will attend the Transat Distribution Canada’s (TDC) Western Region Conference and Ontario and Atlantic Canada Conference. These meetings, which will take place at the Westin Wall Center Vancouver Airport from September 9 to 11, 2011, and at the Sheraton Toronto Airport & Conference Center from September 16 to 18, 2011, are a highly-anticipated opportunity for regional travel agency owners, managers and staff to exchange with their peers while developing their skills and knowledge.
Themed “We weren’t born to follow”, these two events are on track to be enormous successes. “At TDC, we are not born to follow because every day, we do things differently by demonstrating creativity and determination in order to please our customers. We are constantly looking to offer customized and quality service to each of our clients. This year’s theme reflects the passion that drives our travel professionals across Canada every day in their work,” said Yves Lalumière, President of TDC.
The activity-filled agenda for theses three-day meetings will feature well-known guests, such as Nolan Burris, author, speaker and motivator. Featured session topics will include, among others, marketing and sales; the TDC customized insurance program; the luxury cruise segment; and Transat’s responsible tourism and corporate branding strategy. Again this year, there will also be the traditional festive side to the meeting: Saturday evening’s events promise to be highly colourful.
Mr. Lalumière adds: “These annual meetings will also provide a forum for our agency owners, managers and staff to examine TDC’s business model, the attributes and key business drivers that make us the largest Canadian retail travel network, and lay foundation for future growth.”

Transat Distribution Canada has organized a similar conference for agency owners, managers and staff in Québec. Themed La petite séduction and welcoming about 650 participants, this event, which was a huge success, took place from August 19 to August 21 at the Sheraton Hotel in Laval.
