Transat wins an award for its Solo Collection

Montreal, November 2, 2018 — For the second year in a row, Transat has won the Solo Travel Award in the Vacation Packages category for its Solo Collection, which offers packages tailored to single travellers. Organized by the Solo Traveler online resource, this second edition highlighted the accomplishments of eight companies that stand out for their excellent services for those who travel alone.

“We are delighted to have won this honour once again,” said Annick Guérard, Transat’s Chief Operating Officer. “This recognition validates our efforts to meet the needs of this growing clientele. It encourages us to move forward and continue to develop programs and products that meet the unique expectations of each type of traveller.”

Since 2015, the Solo Collection has made it possible for people travelling alone to enjoy a stay in an all-inclusive resort without having to pay a singles supplement. In addition, various benefits are provided to enhance their stay, such as a shared table for meals as well as free Wi-Fi and room service where available. The collection, which started with 17 resorts at 10 destinations in 7 countries, has grown over the years to now include 39 resorts at 19 destinations in 10 countries!

Transat’s experts constantly strive to develop and market a vast range of products that provide an experience perfectly tailored to the needs of all types of travellers, whether it be for beach vacations, guided tours or cruises. With this in mind, the Sun packages are divided into four collections: Luxury, Distinction, Family, and of course, Solo.

To determine the winners of the Solo Travel Awards, Solo Traveler enlisted the expertise of esteemed judges and influencers in the industry. Established in 2009, Solo Traveler is an online resource and community that provides information, inspiration and advocacy for solo travellers and the industry that is growing to serve them.
